CANONS ASHBY CASTLE

All that remains of the motte and bailey castle is a large, tree-covered mound known as Castle Hill, approximately 150 feet in diameter and up to 10 feet high and surrounded by a shallow ditch about 40 feet wide. It is stands within the park around the 16th century Canons Ashby House which was landscaped in the 18th century including the trees on the motte.
