The motte has a base diameter of 100 feet, is 20 feet high and has a flat summit 50 feet in diameter. It is surrounded on three sides by water meadows bordering the Afon Llynfi. It was still in use in the 13th century and although it is not know if it was rebuilt in stone, some stonework lying about near the motte may be the remains of a round tower.
