BEAUDESERT CASTLE

The motte and earthworks remain of a Norman castle surrounded by a deep ditch and on a high ridge overlooking Henley-on-Arden. It was built up in stone in the middle of the 13th century but had fallen into ruins by the 16th century. Some stonework was visible a hundred years ago, but no longer.
