The mound, which has been severely damageded by quarrying, measures 52 feet in diameter by 10 feet high and is surrounded by an 8 feet deep ditch. The inner enclosure has a bank and ditch dividing it from the outer enclosure. The outer triangular bailey may originally have been an Iron Age fort.
