BURWELL CASTLE

BURWELL CASTLE
Photo Charles Taylor

Only earthworks remain of this small rectangular castle surrounded by a wide ditch that was erected around 1142. The site is circled by additional earthworks. A short section of wall has been excavated but it is thought the stonework was never completed.

Open to the public.
