CULMINGTON CASTLE

A medieval motte and bailey castle which now survives just as earthworks between the River Corve to the west and Pye Brook to the east. The motte is 11 feet in height surrounded by a 5 feet deep ditch and there is a circular bailey to the south west which is also enclosed by a ditch and bank.
